Massive first half catapults Tiffin to 45-10 victory

Tiffin University (5-2, 4-1 G-MAC) had a massive first half at Thomas More, scoring 42 points en route to a 45-10 road victory.

Tiffin scored on all but one possession in the first half. They took the opening kick and drove 90 yards on 10 plays for their first score, as Tyrese Banks-Dorn rushed in from 5 yards out at the 10:34 mark to make it 7-0, TU.

After starting its next drive on the Saints' 42-yard line, Tiffin quickly made it 14-0 when Ethan Holbrook caught a 2-yard TD pass from Alex Johnson at the 6:21 mark.

After a TMU field goal made it 14-3, Tiffin drove 80 yards on 5 plays with Holbrook hauling in another pass for 13 yards at the 13:32 mark of the second quarter.

After a three-and-out by the Saints, Ronald Blackman exploded on TU's next possession for a 66-yard touchdown run that made it 28-3 at the 11:13 mark.

The defense got in on the scoring on the Saints' next possession, as Tiffin's Ethan Evers picked off a pass and returned it 33 yards for a score to make it 35-3.

With just 55 seconds left in the half, the Dragons finished the half with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Johnson to Emari White with 18 seconds left to make it 42-3 at halftime.

Tiffin's final points came with just 2:19 left in the game when Ben Rudolph hit a 39-yard field goal.

Tiffin's defense controlled the tempo throughout the game, holding the Saints to just 5 of 17 third-down conversions and 254 total yards of offense. The Dragons racked up 425 yards including 253 through the air. They also totaled 45 points with just 21:46 of possession time. 

Johnson finished 17 of 20 through the air for 247 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. White had 93 yards receiving and 167 yards of all-purpose production. Johnson targeted 10 different receivers, while Blackman led TU with 90 rushing yards.

Defensively Jacob Tuiemeh led the way with 8 tackles while Gio Albanese, Khris Walton, Malik Baker, and Kyle Johnson had 5 stops apiece. Baker and Evers had interceptions, while Albanese, Walton, Jokell Brown, and Uzonna Nzekwe all had half sacks.
