McCloskey resigns as Head Men's Golf Coach

Cameron McCloskey has resigned as Head Men's Golf Coach at Tiffin University.

McCloskey led the Dragons to a 3rd-place finish in the G-MAC in 2023-24 and an 11th place finish at the Midwest Super Regional. The team had seven Top 5 finishes including wins at the Music City Invitational, the Midwest Region preview at Missouri-St. Louis, and the Kyle Ryman Memorial Invitational.

In his first season as head coach (2022-23), McCloskey led the Dragons to a runner-up finish at the G-MAC Championships. Johan Widal (Fr.) landed an individual bid to the NCAA DII regional championship hosted in Winona, Minnesota. Overall TU had five Top-5 finishes during the season, including wins at the Kyle Ryman Memorial and the Glenmoor Invitational where the team set a new program scoring record for 54 holes with a total of 847 (-17).

In McCloskey's first year as an assistant coach for the men's golf program, he helped lead the team to capture the 2022 G-MAC Championship and a bid to the NCAA DII regional championship.

He was a member of the team from 2016-21. During his time at TU, Cam achieved Academic All-American honors 3 seasons and was named to the G-MAC All-Conference team during his last season, posting a 74.42 season average (8th best all-time).

"It has been an absolute honor to lead this program, my alma mater, as head coach over the past two seasons," said McCloskey. "Tiffin University and the men's golf program will always have a special place in my heart. I would especially like to thank Athletic Director Kelly Daniel, President Schumacher, Tiffin University men's golf alumni, and the Tiffin community for their support during my time at TU. I would like to extend a special thank you to all of our past and present players for their dedication. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish as a program."

"When you are a former student athlete, alum and head coach, you truly have the trifecta," said Daniel. "Cam brought this to Dragon Nation. We are thankful for all his hard work and dedication to the men's golf program and to the university. Cam will be missed, but will forever be a Dragon. We wish Cam and Ashley all the best in their future."
