Tiffin University (ranked 13th nationally) pulled off a road upset over 8th-ranked Lake Erie, winning a seesaw battle 21-16.
Tiffin opened with two big victories.
Anthony Aniciete (125 pounds) outpointed Anthony Sagaris 13-7 while
Max Shore (133) followed with a strong 16-1 tech fall win to give TU an 8-0 lead.
Lake Erie bounced back with two wins as Corey Gamet topped
Christopher Oleksiak (141) by pin in 1:24 and Carsen Richards beat
Jacob Pail (149) 5-1. The Storm now led 9-8.
Gavin Owens (157) got TU back on the winning track with a close 4-1 decision, while
Casey Barnett (165) lost 11-4.
Tiffin then got two consecutive wins as
David Davis (174) clipped Thomas Potter 7-2 and
Lucas Salmon (184) won the night's closest contest 3-2 to give TU a 17-13 lead with two bouts left.Â
Brylan Clouse then defeated TU's Jacob Noon (197) 4-1 as the dual came down to the final match with TU ahead 17-16.
Clayton Ours (285) won a major decision 10-0 over Dylan Norris to secure the win for the Dragons.
