Lucas Salmon (197 pounds) led Tiffin University's men's wrestling team, taking 2nd at the Findlay Open.
Salmon won four straight bouts to reach the finals. He beat Ohio 6-2, Lake Erie 7-0, Grand Valley State 4-1, and Wisconsin-Parkside 6-5. In the title bout, he fell to McKendree via pin in 56 seconds.
Tiffin had two other placers.
Jake Powell (285) placed 6th and had five wins overall. He posted victories over Ryder Betts (fall 25 seconds), Indiana Tech (fall 15 seconds), Indianapolis (tech fall 17-2), McKendree (9-1), and Indiana Tech 11-5. In the fifth place match, he fell to Indianapolis by forfeit.
Dean Hetrick (197) placed 8th overall. He had wins against Wheeling 14-0, Wheeling (medical forfeit), Lake Erie (fall 3:00), and Lake Erie (8-1).
