Tiffin University bounced back with two wins on day two of the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Tiffin got a win over Newberry 19-18 and then dispatched 9th-ranked Indianapolis 30-12.
Tiffin got five early wins in the first seven weight classes to take a big lead against Newberry.
Anthony Aniciete (125 pounds) got things off on the right foot with a pin victory in 6:43 while
Max Shore (133) got a big 17-1 tech fall victory next.
Cael Woods (141) made it three in a row for TU, edging his opponent 10-8. After a narrow 12-9 loss by
Nolan Gessler (149),
Jacob Pail (157) got a 2-1 win.
David Davis (174) got Tiffin's last win in the dual with a close 5-2 decision.
Brayden Benson (184) fell 4-1 and
Jake Noon (197) lost 5-0 in a pair of close losses.
Against the Greyhounds, Tiffin won seven of the 10 weight classes. Shore got a win by fall in 1:11 while
Matt Zuckerman (149) won in sudden victory 9-6. Aniciete and
Mason Amadio (141) got early forfeit wins.
After Pail fell 4-2 in a narrow loss,
Gavin Owens (165) picked up a close 11-7 win. Davis continued the streak of close victories, winning 4-2 while
Lucas Salmon (184) also won 7-4.
Dean Hetrick (197) also dropped a close match 3-2.
