Tiffin University picked up a couple dual match victories, defeating Albion 23-20 and John Carroll 38-6 at the Tiffin Duals.
The two teams traded wins early before the Dragons got some wins late to pull out the victory.
Jenavi Alejandro (116 pounds) got Tiffin's first win by fall in 57 seconds, while
Ariana Carrasquillo (130) also got a win by fall in 1:11.
Tiffin pulled off three straight wins in the upper weight classes.
Paige Lenhardt (143) won a narrow decision 11-10 while
Erin Martin (155) and
Tia Leahy (170) got forfeit wins.
Against John Carroll, Tiffin won all but one weight class and benefited from three forfeits and three wins by medical forfeit.Â
Alejandro (109) got a fast 40 second win while Martin also battled hard for a close 8-2 victory.Â
Getting forfeit wins were
Leah Pekar (116), Carrasquillo, and Leahy, while
Madelin Allen (123),
Tatiana Bermudez (136), and
Sidney Ramos (170) all won via medical forfeits.
