Tiffin University (18-7, 31st in NCAA Division II) fell to 21st-ranked Grand Valley State 4-0 in the opening round of the Midwest Regional played at Wayne State, Michigan.

The Dragons opened with two losses in doubles as the Lakers took a 1-0 lead. Celine Ferron/Emily Barrett lost their match 6-3 while Shea Foster/Mathilde Gilles fell 6-4. Anaelle Lepinay/Carina Avram were trailing 5-2 in their match when it was halted.

In singles play, Lepinay lost the closest match 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), while Barrett also fell 6-3, 6-4 and Ferron lost 6-4, 6-0. Tiffin's three other singles matches were unfinished.
