Two men's track and field athletes competed during the opening day of the NCAA Outdoor National Championships.

Jacob McPherson placed 15th overall in the hammer throw, finishing with a throw of 57.40 meters.

Collin Jasin also competed in the pole vault but could not make it out of the first round, missing the cut after three attempts at 4.85 meters.

Benedict Draghi will compete in the discus on May 27.
