Tiffin Takes Down Ferris State for Second-Straight Win

LEXINGTON, Ohio - Tiffin men's tennis took down the No. 5 team in the Midwest Region on Sunday, defeating Ferris State 4-3 at the Lakewood Racquet Club.

With the win, the Dragons improve to 4-5 on the year heading into the annual Spring Break trip that starts next weekend.

Tiffin started things off by going 2-1 in doubles to earn the point. Nikita Parfenov and Michael Gurtner paired up to win 6-3 at No. 1, while Matthew Telford and Tom Blaquiere took a 6-3 victory at No. 3.

Gurtner and Blaquiere also earned huge wins in singles, with Gurtner taking a 7-6, 6-2 victory at No. 2 and Blaquiere coming out on top of a back-and-forth affair at No. 6 by a score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.

Hugo Chatras also earned a win in singles at No. 4 to clinch the fourth and deciding point for the Dragons, defeating his opponent 6-4, 6-3.

The first match of Tiffin's Spring Break slate comes a week from today on March 1 when they take on Cornerstone in Hilton Head, S.C.
