Tiffin University (12-4) pulled out a narrow 5-4 victory over Ferris State in the opening rounds of the GLIAC tourney, moving on to take on unbeaten Wayne State in the GLIAC Semifinals Oct. 25 at 3:45 pm.

TU held a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Caroline Nelhage/Chelsea Beck won 8-4 while Abigail Schuster/Valentina Mazzola won an even closer match 8-6. Bianca Avram/Caroline Harpaintner fell 8-0.

TU got the rest of their points with three singles victories. Nelhage won 6-2, 6-4, while Harpaintner won 6-4, 6-3. Schuster got the decisive win in a close 6-4, 6-4 victory. TU's other losses were in straight sets.
