Tiffin University (5-1, 5-1 GLIAC) dropped its first match of the season but the Dragons put up a strong fight in the narrow 6-3 defeat at Wayne State.

In doubles play, Caroline Nelhage/Chelsea Beck won 8-5 but Malaika Messi/Valentina Mazzola fell 8-5 to even the score at 1-1. Rachelmary Brozovich/Abigail Schuster then lost another close one 8-6 to put TU down 2-1 heading to singles play.

TU got wins from Mazzola 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 and Nelhage 6-2, 6-1. Messi, however, fell 7-6, 6-3 while TU dropped three other singles matches in straight sets. Schuster fell 6-3, 6-4, Beck lost 6-4, 6-1, and Brozovich fell 6-1, 6-0.
