Tiffin University's women's tennis team (11-1, 9-1 GLIAC) posted two strong wins over Lake Erie 9-0 and Walsh 6-3 on Homecoming weekend.
Against Lake Erie, the Dragons dropped just five games in all 9 matches. Malaika Messi/Valentina Mazzola posted an 8-1 win, while Caroline Nelhage/Chelsea Beck and Nicole Ardner/Andrea Alaniz both had 8-0 wins.
In singles, Messi, Beck, Brozovich, and Schuster all had 6-0, 6-0 shutout victories, while Mazzola won 6-0, 6-1 and Nelhage won 6-1, 6-1.
Against the Cavaliers, matches were a little closer. Messi/Mazzola fell 8-6 in a close battle while Brozovich/Schuster posted an even tougher 9-7 victory. Nelhage/Beck won 8-3 to give TU a 2-1 lead heading to singles.
Messi (6-1, 2-6, 6-3) and Mazzola (6-3, 6-7, 6-2) pulled out the critical three set victories that swung things in Tiffin's favor. Nelhage and Schuster also won singles matches 6-2, 6-2.
