Tiffin University took half of the singles matches but could not manage any wins in doubles play, falling on the road to Ferris State 6-3.

Two of the three doubles defeats were close, with Malaika Messi/Taylor Cooper and Anna Scherting/Chelsea Beck both falling 5-8. TU was in a 3-0 hole after doubles play.

Messi won an epic singles match 4-6, 6-2, 10-8 at first singles, while Scherting also won 6-3, 6-4 and Chelsea Beck pulled out a three-setter 7-5, 1-6, 10-4. But TU's other singles losses were quick straight set defeats.

TU now travels to Grand Valley State for a match on Sept. 10.
