Randy Wright enters his second year as Assistant Coach for Tiffin University's football program in 2025-26. He serves as the defensive line coach.

Prior to Tiffin, Wright coached at Lake Forest College from 2021-23. Lake Forest posted an 8-1 record in Midwest Conference play in 2022, claiming a league title and advancing to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the second year in a row.

The Foresters were 26-6 overall and 23-4 in league play with a pair of conference titles and NCAA Playoff appearances during Wright's time with the team. Defensive linemen on the team combined to earn 10 All-MWC honors.

During the spring of 2021 Wright was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Wendell Phillips Academy High School in Chicago and helped lead the Wildcats to a 3-1 record.

Wright spent eight of the previous nine years as an assistant coach at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He was the Jumbos' co-defensive coordinator from 2014 to 2020 and served specifically as the defensive line coach, linebackers coach, and special teams coordinator during his tenure. Tufts was 33-26 with Wright on staff.

Wright's coaching career began at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois. He served as the team's defensive backs coach in 2011 before becoming the linebackers coach at Tufts the following season. He was also the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Earlham College for a season before returning to Tufts in 2014.

A 2011 graduate of Elmhurst College, Wright drew the interest of NFL teams as an All-American linebacker. He was a three-time all-region and all-conference selection and, despite playing just three years for the Bluejays, he graduated as the program's career leader with 49.0 tackles for loss and ranked third in team history in tackles (313) and fourth in sacks (20.0).

Wright has a bachelor's degree from Elmhurst College and a master's degree from Southern New Hampshire University.
