Mary Boyden enters her first year as assistant track and field coach at Tiffin University in 2025-26, serving as the throws coach.

Boyden spent three seasons as assistant coach at Ohio University from 2022-25. While with the Bobcats, she helped coach seven All-MAC Academic recipients, three CSC Academic All District honorees, and four MAC Championship Top 10 finishes. She also steered the throwers to over 50 lifetime best marks between indoor and outdoor seasons.

Boyden also coached at Ohio Dominican from 2019-21. Prior to her two seasons with the Panthers, Boyden was a Graduate Assistant/Assistant Throws Coach for Wingate. In both of these roles, Boyden primarily worked with throwers.

During her time at Ohio Dominican, Boyden assisted with recruiting as well as creating lift cycles. Under her direction, new school records were set in the men's javelin and women's discus, while placing three athletes as All-G-MAC honorees.

Wingate earned a women's conference title while also receiving multiple individual All-Conference honors. Additionally, five athletes were conference champions and four were national qualifiers under Boyden's assistance. Boyden also has experience in operations, marketing and fundraising, and student success through her role with the Bulldogs.

The former Tiffin athlete finished eighth at the 2017 Indoor National Championships in shot put. She's also an eight-time National Qualifier in Division II and III Track and Field. Boyden threw the fourth farthest shot put throw in Tiffin's program history and was the Dragon for Life recipient in 2017. She was also recognized by Heidelberg as an athlete of the Women's Track and Field Team of the Decade in 2017.

Boyden earned her bachelor's in Marketing with a minor in Public Relations from Tiffin in May of 2017. She recently received her master's in Sport Management from Wingate in May of 2019.
