Tiffin University and Alderson Broaddus played 110 minutes but neither team could find the back of the net, as the season opened with a 0-0 double overtime tie to start the 2019 men's soccer season.
Neither team could manage many shots on goal, with TU outshooting AB 13-8 overall but managing only 3 shots on goal. The Dragons' defense was tight, allowing only 1 shot on goal over 110 minutes.
The Dragons opened on the attack, forcing the Battlers to make two of their three saves in the opening half. Martijn Kuijs and Lukas Manneck both hit solid shots in the first 6:00 but could not get the goal.
With 2:47 left in the first overtime, Manneck again had a chance but his shot was saved in the middle of the net to stop TU's last shot on goal.
The Dragons kept up pressure in the attacking end, spending 63 percent of their possession time on the offensive end. The Dragons could not find the net however, as a number of shots sailed high.
Dylan Morris earned the tie in goal over 110 minutes, making one save.
TU will now look to get their first win against Illinois-Springfield Saturday Nov. 7 at 1 pm.
