The Tiffin University men's and women's track and field teams completed day one of the G-MAC Outdoor Championships.
The men are currently in first place with 38 points and the women are seventh with one point.
Headlining opening day was Louis Ginane who captured the 10K G-MAC title with a time of 30:46.92 and the Dragons had the top three placers in the event. Ramon Rodriguez came in second with 30:47.36 and Isaac Houghton was third with 30:47.56.
Another podium finisher was Thomas Nelson who finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 60.55 meters (198' 8"). Other point scorers on the men's side include Hayden Buhro, Andrew Jones, and Brenden Hopkins. The trio finished sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively in the javelin throw.
Ginane automatically earns First Team All-Conference honors for winning a G-MAC title, and both Nelson and Rodriguez both earn Second Team honors for their second-place finishes.
On the women's side, Kaitlyn Gum picked up the Dragons' lone point, finishing eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.38 meters (165' 3").
