Tiffin University women's golf had a tough final 18 holes on the course on Wednesday, but Lisa Marie Schumacher punched her ticket to the NCAA National Championships as an individual.
The Dragons dropped four spots on the final day and finished seventh out of 18 teams at Regionals. Tiffin recorded a 54-round total of 935 that included a 318 on day three, their highest 18-hole total at the tournament and missed the top five cut by six strokes.
Advancing teams were Grand Valley State, Findlay, Ferris State, UIndy, and Missouri-St. Louis.
Schumacher finished fifth with a total of 221 (+5) following a round three score of 76. Schumacher has qualified for the National Championships as one of the top two individual finishers not on the qualifying teams.
Laura Goetz finished tied for with a total of 234 (+18) following a round three score of 81. Primross Chikwaya recorded her lowest round in round three with a 78 and finished tied for 42nd with a 54-hole total of 239 (+23).
Abby Thompson recorded an 85 in the final round and finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 246 (+30). Louise Hedstrom had an 83 in the final round.
