Tiffin University women's track and field had a very busy weekend as athletes competed in North Carolina, Florida, and Ohio. Highlighting the women's competition was three school records being broken and multiple Dragons earning new personal bests.
Duke Invitational meet highlights:
Ines Macadam placed ninth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:08.97. C'airra Carter finished eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.61 meters (5' 3.25"). Cassidy Vogt placed sixth in the heptathlon and recorded a personal best time of 26.47 seconds in the 200 meter dash.
South Florida Invitational meet highlights:
Nevaeh Lewis recorded new personal bests in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. In the 100, finished 12th in 11.64 seconds and placed 17th in the 200 with a time of 24.07 seconds which breaks a 10-year old school record. Lewis hit the national provisional mark in the 100.
Liana Rodriguez placed ninth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.04 seconds which breaks a school record. Rodriguez is now the school record holder in both the indoor and outdoor 400. Rodriguez was also part of the 4x100 relay team that broke the school record. The relay team consisted of Tatiyana Cooper-Laylor, Caliyah Wallace, Rodriguez, and Nevaeh White.
John Homon Open meet highlights:
Navaeh White placed third in the 100 meter dash with a new personal best time of 12.36 seconds. Chelsea Janis placed fifth in the 200 meter dash with a new personal best time of 25.50 seconds.
Makayla May placed fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.61 meters (11' 10"). Abbigail Bushong recorded personal bests in both the shot put (10.51 meters / 34' 5.75) and discus (38.61 meters / 126' 8").
