Six Tiffin University men's wrestling student-athletes were honored with the release of the G-MAC Men's Wrestling awards.
Cael Woods was named G-MAC Wrestler of the Meet following the G-MAC Championships, while
Jakob Hurley was named the Elite 26 recipient for having the highest GPA among competitors.
Woods was also a First Team selection after winning the 125 pound championship. Other First Team picks were
Max Shore (133),
Casey Barnett (157), and
Lucas Salmon (197).
Gavin Owens (157) earned Second Team honors with a runner-up finish.
Overall, Tiffin's men's wrestling team won the G-MAC regular season championship. The Dragons earned the title by finishing unbeaten in conference play with a 6-0 mark. Ashland was second with a 5-1 mark.
Tiffin defeated Ashland 23-21 in their head-to-head matchup. The Dragons dominated the rest of the field in the conference, posting wins over Thomas More 40-10, Davenport 48-5, Lake Erie 42-12, Findlay 41-3, and Kentucky Wesleyan 51-4.
