In an exciting and wire-to-wire finish, the Tiffin University men's golf team rallied from down 11 strokes entering the final 18 holes on Tuesday and came out on top at the Kyle Ryman Memorial at Mohwak Golf Country Club.
The Dragons were chasing IUP who was in control entering the final round and TU slowly started to close the gap before putting the finishing touches on the comeback as Tiffin won the 13-team, 54-hole tournament with 290, 279, 288 for 857 (-7) while also having the individual winner for the second year in a row. The top three teams (Tiffin, IUP, Pitt-Johnstown) were separated by just eight strokes.
Winston Brown took home the individual title, the first of his career, shooting 71, 68, and 69 for 208 (-8). Daniel Aitken finished tied for second with 212 (-4) following rounds of 73, 69, and 70. Mitchell Brassard finished tied for seventh with 215 (-1) and recorded rounds of 70, 71, and 74.
Liam Harvey finished tied for 26th with 224 (+8) recording round scores of 76, 72, and 76. Max Vanoy was tied for 30th with 225 (+9) recording rounds of 79, 71, and 75.
Tiffin's "B" squad finished sixth with a total of 887 (+23) which consisted of Christopher Bruno, Ryan Norkin, Lane Notter, Harrison Brindley, and Filip Lundqvist. Bruno and Norkin both finished in the top 10 finishing tied for seventh with 215 (-1). Bruno had 74, 72, and 69 while Norkin went 76, 68, 71.
Joshua Swartz, Grant Woodruff, and Devon Starcher competed as individuals.
