Tiffin's women's track & field team traveled to Ashland to compete in the two-day Jud Logan Light Giver Open, beginning on Friday.
Friday
The Dragon's top performances came in the pole vault as both
Lily Hollibaugh and
Samantha Smith tied for second place overall with a mark of 3.65 meters.
Brittany Devall posted a mark of 16.19m in the weight throw, good for 11th. Rounding out the field events was
Deona Davis, who came 13th in the triple jump reaching 10.58m.
Caitlin Weitzel (20:21.18) and
Ella Strehlow (21:01.09) competed in the 5000-meter run, placing 20th and 24th respectively. Finally,
Chelsea Janis (26.056 seconds) and
Caliyah Wallace (26.057) ran nearly identical times in the 200-meter with Janis just taking the edge for 20th.
Saturday
The best of day two came in the high jump as
Morgan Foos finished second with a mark of 1.65m followed closely by
C'airra Carter in a tie for third place at 1.60m. Carter also placed 10th in the long jump, posting a mark of 5.26m.
Harley West ended eighth in the shot put after tossing 12.43m. The 400-meter dash saw
Liana Rodriguez end in eighth place as well, finishing in 57.43 seconds. She was followed by Wallace in 12th place with a time of 58.67. Additionally,
Cassidy Vogt placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.07 seconds.
The women had just one student-athlete travel to the Meyo Invitational at Notre Dame as
Ines Macadam competed in the 800-meter open. She performed well, placing sixth and recording a provisional time of 2:12.40.
