The Dragons claimed first place in two different events but ultimately finished fourth out of a total of 10 teams at the Great Midwest Indoor Championship with a total of 76.50 points.
The two event victories for Tiffin came through
Ines Macadam who claimed first place in the mile with a time of 4:59.15 and
Samantha Smith in the pole vault with a mark of 3.96 meters. Macadam also placed second in the 800-meter event, finishing in 2:10.54.
The final podium finisher for the Dragons was
C'airra Carter in the high jump, placing third with a mark of 1.63m. She was followed closely by
Morgan Foos who ended fifth with 1.60m and also tallying points for Tiffin. Carter also finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.01m.
A combination of
Liana Rodriguez,
Chelsea Janis,
Caliyah Wallace, and Macadam competed in the 4x400-meter relay, placing fourth overall in 3:53.02. Wallace also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 24.88 seconds.
Angela Ejimofor placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.04 seconds while
Charlotte Campbell also recorded a sixth place-finish in the 3000-meter event in 10:10.67.
Macadam's received a specialty award after her two top-two finishes earned her Women's Track Athlete of the Meet.
Tiffin's national qualifiers will now prepare for the NCAA Indoor Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas on March 8-9.
