The Tiffin University women's track and field team began the 2024-25 season this week by sending athletes to three different meets, the Hillsdale Mid-Week Multi, GVSU Holiday Open, and the Tiffin Alumni Meet which was hosted at the Heminger Center on the campus of Tiffin University.
Hillsdale meet highlights:
Emily Curtice recorded a personal best in both the high jump (1.55m, 5' 1") and shot put (12.90m, 42' 4"). She earned a first-place finish in the shot put by a wide margin over the second-place finisher from Hillsdale.
Cassidy Vogt earned a first-place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.15 seconds and recorded a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 10.60m (34' 9.5").
GVSU meet highlights:
In heat two of the 3,000 meter run, Acadia Tremain placed third with a time of 10:37.92 and Audrey Sanzone placed fifth with a time of 10:39.79. In heat one opf the 3,000 meter run, Greta Macadam placed 20th with a time of 10:21.87.
Tiffin meet highlights:
Caliyah Wallace won the 60 meter dash finals with a time of 7.76 seconds and also took first place in the 200 meter run with a time of 25.38 seconds.
Cantrelle Williams recorded a personal best time of 27.86 seconds in the 200 meter dash and took placed first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.28.
In the mile, Zaynah Tate finished first with Kaydence Hoover coming in second place. Caitlin Weitzel took first in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:18.23. C'airra Carter placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.67m while Makayla May took first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.45m.
Kaitlyn Gum took first place in both the shot put and weight throw. Annie Karshner earned a personal best in the shot put with a mark of 11.29m.
