The Tiffin University women's golf team finished their third tournament of the fall season on Tuesday in the William Beall Fall Classic at the Findlay Country Club. The Dragons were unable to maintain their position after day one and ended up finishing fourth out of 18 teams after ending day one in third place. As a team, the Dragons had a team total of 300 in the final round which matched their round two total. TU shot a team-best 299 in round one.
The 899, 54-hole total is also a new school record as the Dragons break the old record of 916 that was set back in the 2021-22 season.
Lisa Marie Schumacher was the top finisher for the Dragons, placing second with a total of 215 after another 71 in round three. Schumacher fell one stroke short of earning medalist honors, but did earn a spot on the All-Tournament team for her performance.
Laura Goetz had a final round score of 76 to finish with 228 and placed tied for 25th. Abby Thompson maintained her position right behind teammate Goetz and had a final round score of 76 to finish the tournament with 229. Thompson finished tied for 28th.
Primross Chikwaya finished with a total of 231 and had rounds of 75, 79, and 77. Louise Hedstrom finished with 233 after rounds of 76, 77, and 80. Jeanne Dolle competed as an individual and had rounds of 79, 83, and 79 for a tournament total of 241.
Amelia Ruiz from Lynn University earned medalist with a 214. Findlay was the team champion followed by Missouri-St. Louis in second and Lynn in third.
The Dragons will return to the course on October 12 and 13 for the Panther Invitational at Stonehenge North Golf Course in Augusta, Mich.
