Dragons Dominate SIngles, Defeat Huskies

MIDLAND, Mich. - After dropping the doubles point, Tiffin men's tennis took care of business in five of the six singles matches to defeat Michigan Tech 5-2 on Sunday morning.

With the win, the Dragons improve to 4-3 on the year.

Nikita Parfenov (No. 2) and Tom Arias (No. 4) each cruised to 6-3, 6-1 victories in their singles matches, while Sorin Navrotchi was one game better with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 3.

Hugo Chatras also picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 5, while Santiago de la Rosa Mora had the most exciting match of the morning with a 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 7-6 (10-7) victory at No. 1 singles.

Parfenov and Chatras scored the only doubles win for the Dragons, a 6-2 victory in the No. 2 spot.

Tiffin will now return home and host Lake Superior State in their first home match of the spring Monday at 5:00 p.m.
