Day two results

Tiffin University continued to battle on day two of the GLIAC Championships at the Jenison Aquatics Center, with the men sitting in 3rd place of 7 teams with 184.5 points just ahead of Malone (162) and Ashland (146). The women remained in 7th place of 11 teams, trailing Ashland 147 to 123.

Tiffin hit four more NCAA B cuts on day two, with Petko Toromanov finishing 4th in the 400 IM in 4:01.45, while Kyle Doss hit another B cut in the 100 butterfly with a 9th place time of 50.21. Anastasiia Kvitchenko was the lone women's swimmer to get a B cut, taking 4th in the 100 butterfly in 56.57. Karolina Siwiec hit a B cut leading off the 4x100 medley relay.

Morgan Dunleavy placed 6th in the 1 meter dive, while Pedro Van Isschot was 7th in the 200 freestyle in 1:42.67 and Ygor Bortolato was 11th. Ty Collins was also 12th in the 400 IM.

In relay action, the 200 freestyle relay squad of Alexandria Schuttinger, Alexandria Lehman, Mari Johnson, and Kvitchenko finished 5th in 1:37.57, while the 400 medley relay team of Karolina Siwiec, Melinda Ulbrecht, Kvitchenko, and Schuttinger was 6th in 3:54.69. For the men, the 400 medley relay team of Ty Collins, Toromanov, Doss, and Van Isschot was 4th in 3:24.45, while the 200 freestyle relay team of Doss, Lucas Bernardo, Van Isschot, and Bortolato was 5th in 1:24.88.

"We had some ups and downs today but over all it was a very good day," said Head Coach Margarita Kalmikova. "We are getting better, our times are getting faster and we are scoring more points. Our relays were really good today. We missed NCAA B cuts by less than a second on the men's and women's side. We had some very close races that could have put us in the finals. But we're learning and getting better every time. Still two more days to go. We need to continue our work and keep our focus."
