FINDLAY, Ohio - Justin Ware, Deven Keene and Emmanuel Grembo went 1-2-3 in the 60-meter dash for the Tiffin University men's and women's track and field team on the final day of the GLIAC Championships. The Dragons had 26 top 10 finishes and 13 additions to the top 10 list.
The men scored 83.50 points to place fourth. Grand Valley State scored 150.50 points to win by 30.50 points over Ashland (120 pts.). The women scored 53.75 points to place sixth. Grand Valley State scored 203.75 points to win by over 112 points over Ashland (91 pts.).
Men
In the 60m dash final, Ware led the sweep by clocking 6.94, edging Keene (6.95) and Grembo (6.96). Colin Fisher was runner-up in the 3000 with a time of 8:25.64. He shattered the old school record of 8:32.40 set in 2004 by Eric Hamner. Antonio Combs leaped 46 feet, 5.50 inches to place third in the triple jump.
The Dragons recorded four fourth place performances. Those came from Zach Cernansky in the 60m hurdles (8.26, 4th fastest in TU history), Travis LeFlore in the high jump (six feet, 6.25 inches, his fourth top four finish in the event), Ware in the 200m dash (22.29) and the 1600m relay team of Ware, Dominic Colvin, Jacob Buckwalter and Shaun Borland (3:20.61).
Tiffin also received scoring performances from Colvin in the 400m dash (7th - 49.72), David Knack in the 3000 (7th - 8:39.97), Andrew Moore in the 60m hurdles (8th - 8.62) and John Pemberton in the shot put (7th - 52 feet, 11 inches).
Women
Marielle Segbor leaped 38 feet, 10.50 inches to be the runner-up in the triple jump. Meghan Gill cleared five feet, 6.50 inches to finish third in the high jump. She broke the school record and it was her fourth top six finish in the event.
Kayla Ellks had the second longest triple jump at 37 feet, six inches to finish fourth. Lynzi Daughenbaugh placed seventh in the high jump, clearing five feet, 2.50 inches. TU received eighth place performances from Daughenbaugh in the 60m hurdles (8.86), Katherine Gerhardt in the shot put (43 feet, 9.75 inches), Jessica Kern in the mile (5:15.77, 3rd fastest in TU history), Jocelyn Rollins in the triple jump (35 feet, five inches) and the 1600m relay team of Carlea Harper, Daughenbaugh, Markita Holland and Taylor Deskins (4:04.24).
