ALLENDALE, Mich. - Zach Cernansky, Emmanuel Grembo, John Pemberton and Justin Ware all recorded wins for the Tiffin University men's and women's track and field team at The Big Meet, Saturday. The Dragons had 33 top 10 finishes and 11 additions to the top 10 list.
Men
Cernansky cruised to victory in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27, winning by 29/100th of a second. His time was fourth best in Tiffin history. Pemberton was just off his school record with a put of 57 feet, one inch to win the shot put. Victories also came from Grembo in the 60m dash (6.95) and Ware in the 400 dash (49.05).
The 1600m relay squad of Shaun Borland, Dominic Colvin, Ware and Jacob Buckwalter was runner-up with a time of 3:17.52. That was fourth fastest in school history and hit the NCAA Division II Provisional Mark. Runner-up performances came from Colvin in the 400 dash (49.15) and Travis LeFlore in the high jump (six feet, 6.75 inches).
Women
Jessica Kern was second in the 3000 with a time of 10:37.04. That is the third fastest time in school history. Lynzi Daughenbaugh was runner-up in the 60m hurdles at 9.21.
The Dragons had a trifecta of fourth place finishes. Kayla Ellks had a solid night placing fourth in the long and triple jumps (17 feet, 11 inches, 36 feet, 10.50 inches). Katherine Gerhardt was fourth in the shot put with a toss of 46 feet, 2.50 inches).
