Mason made history in multiple ways for Tiffin wrestling last weekend at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.
The junior was one of two Dragons to qualify for the event, and both reached the final in their respective weight classes, with Mason claiming the second title in program history with a 5-2 win over Vince Dietz of St. Cloud State in the 197-lb. championship bout.
The title match seemed to be the only one that Mason had any trouble with whatsoever, as the junior led at nearly all points of his other three bouts before pinning his opponent each time.
Teammate Trey Grine also finished as the National Runner-Up at 149-lbs., and the duo's success combined to land TU in eighth place, its highest-ever finish at the NCAA Championships.
