Tiffin University (13-8, 5-1 G-MAC) had little trouble with Ohio Valley, combining for 19 hits and 20 runs in a sweep of the Fighting Scots.
Tiffin won the opener 11-2 in 5 innings, highlighted by an 8 run fourth inning. Sarah Klein got the win, tossing 4 innings and allowing 1 hit and no runs with 4 strikeouts. Lexi Falde finished the game, tossing one inning and allowing 2 earned runs.
Tiffin scored in every inning. In the first, Libby Crow walked and stole second, followed by Brooke Lambert, who singled and stole second. Heidi Marshall got the RBI with another single to make it 1-0, Tiffin.
In the third, Gabrielle Hess singled and was sacrificed to second. Swaisgood then singled and Hess flew home on a bobble by the OVU left fielder to make it 3-0.
TU broke out the lumber in the fourth inning. Sevenish and Crow led off with singles and were sacrificed up to second and third. Marshall then doubled to drive them both home. Hess, Abbey Zedaker, and Swaisgood all drew consecutive walks, with Swaisgood getting an RBI. Kaylee Savage then got a sacrifice fly for another run. Hayley Kobie drew yet another walk to load the bases. Sevenish laced a single for 2 RBIs, followed by Crow's big triple to score Tiffin's final two runs.
Overall, Crow had 3 hits with a triple and 2 RBI, Sevenish, Marshall, and Swaisgood all had 2 hits each, with Marshall accounting for 3 RBI and a double. Sevenish and Swaisgood had 2 RBI each.
In game two, the Dragons won 9-0 in five innings. Victoria Edwards got the win, allowing just 2 hits over 5 innings with 8 strikeouts.
Tiffin again got on the board in the opening frame, as Sevenish led off with a triple and scored on a passed ball. Lambert drew a walk and came around on Marshall's RBI single to make it 1-0, Dragons.
In the second, Chelsey Trusty doubled, Kirsten Georges singled, and Sevenish walked to load the bases. Crow got a sacrifice fly for one run, with Lambert then walking to load the bases again. Marshall responded with a huge triple to clear the bases, and then scored herself on Hess's RBI single to make it 7-0, Tiffin.
Tiffin put the game away in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the fifth inning. Zedaker walked and with two outs Lexi Potapczak drilled a long two-run home run to end the game in walkoff fashion.
Marshall had two more hits with a triple for 4 RBI, while Sevenish and Lambert also had triples. Trusty added a double, as five of Tiffin's 8 hits were for extra bases.
