Fifteen Dragons head to NCAA Outdoor Nationals

A total of 13 men's track and 2 women's track athletes were selected to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Bradenton, Florida.

The 13 men's athletes will be competing in 9 separate events. TU led the way with three qualifiers in the shot put, with national leader Coy Blair taking the top spot with a toss of 19.9 meters. Eric Jackson (17.25) and Zane Lawrence (17.28) also made the cut.

James Ngandu was a double qualifier, making the 10,000 meters with a time of 28:50.75 and the 5000 in 13:46.63. Both times rank second nationally so far this year.

Marquise Corbett also qualified in the long jump with 7.54 meters, while Cameron Burrows also made it in the high jump with 2.11 meters (9th best nationally).

Dylan Cornwell (5.2) and Davis Bowers (5.05) both qualified in the pole vault. Cornwell's mark is tied for 5th nationally.

On the track side, the 4x100 team of Michael King, Jonte Baker, Shaquille Hildreth, and Reginald Thomas will compete. Their time of 40.29 is 5th overall. Thomas will also compete in the 100 meters, posting a time of 10.39 (9th). Mackenzi Rickman also was selected in the 110 hurdles with 14.28.

For the women, TU had two selections. Mary Boyden made it in the shot put with a throw of 14.66, while Miranda Mondozzi was selected in the hammer throw with 56.00 meters.
